42nd Street Candy Company

Friday, July 30th, 2010

I love showcasing incredible vendors around the Oklahoma area. One of the best parts of my job is coming alongside incredible vendors and working with them. There are a lot of talented people and I am so thankful to work with them in the wedding industry.

Another awesome person to work with for your wedding is Teresa. Teresa is the owner of 42nd Street Candy Company located in Oklahoma City. It is on Western just south of 50th. If you have not been in her amazing store, you are missing out. Pretty much any type of candy you have ever wanted is in that store. If you are on that summer diet, enter at your own risk. It can be very tempting.

There are a lot of different things that Teresa can do when it comes to a wedding. One thing that she can do that has been a hit at Oklahoma weddings recently is the Candy Bar or Candy Buffet.

Teresa provided all of the candy for a wedding that I coordinated in April. She can do anything. You just tell her your color scheme and she provides countless ideas that are sure to be a hit at your wedding. She can do a Candy Buffet that is all-inclusive meaning she will provide the jars, the candy, the favor boxes/bags, the scoops, etc. She will also do the set-up and clean up. She would do it all! Or you can provide everything yourself and she can just provide the candy.

I have worked with Teresa a lot in the past and have been blown away by her joyous attitude, bubbly personality, and incredible professionalism.

I have heard rumors that they are working on a new website! I think it might be coming true pretty soon! In the meantime, give Teresa a call. You can reach her at 42nd Street Candy Company at 405-521-8337.

Lacie & Jordan

Friday, May 21st, 2010

I am seeing my bride’s everywhere (on the internet). Photographers are showcasing their engagement session on their blog, or highlighting pictures of their bridal session, or posting about their wedding, etc. I have been loving seeing their pictures! Because they are all so amazing and beautiful, I would like to showcase them too!

Here are Lacie and Jordan:

Jordan is a pilot and he flew them to Wiley Post Airport where they did their engagement shoot. How perfect is that?

Carl Zoch did their engagement session and will be shooting at their wedding this fall. I took these two pictures from his blog. He gets all the credit! Also, check out these two blog posts from Carl Zoch to see more of their incredible engagement session:

Lacie has sent me some incredible pictures for her wedding inspiration. Let’s just say that every picture she sends me, I just love. It is going to be a vintage-chic, whimsical wedding incorporating unique and modern elements. Here is a little glimpse into the inspiration:

This next picture gives some inspiration for centerpiece ideas and also a way to incorporate burlap onto the reception tables:

I am so excited for their wedding! We still have 4 months of planning to do to get ready! I sure do love what I do!

Candy Bar

Candy Bars/Buffets are a popular way to offer your guests a favor to tell them “thank you for coming.” You can have all different kinds of candy in the same colors as your wedding, or you can have the bride and groom’s favorite candy available.

If you are wanting to have a candy buffet at your wedding, I highly recommend 42nd Street Candy Company located on Western. Call Teresa at 405-521-8337. She can provide just the candy, or a full service candy buffet including vases/containers, set up, tear down, etc. She is fabulous!

May 16, 2009 Wedding - Candy Bar

Thursday, June 4th, 2009

Once again, I had such a great time at this wedding helping Stacie and Eddie with all the important details to make their day special. She had a gorgeous wedding outside and it did not rain!

A big hit at their wedding (and numerous weddings that I have done) was the candy bar. Guests LOVE this. It is such a great way to have a favor for your guests to tell them “thank you” for coming. It is pretty easy to set up no matter how extravagant you want it to be or not. All you really need is different size vases and/or apothecary jars and some yummy candy. I have seen candy bars that consisted of the bride and groom’s favorite candy. I have seen candy bars where the only candy they had was in the exact color scheme of their wedding. I have seen candy bars that included candy from other states or countries that the guests had never had before. I have seen very elaborate candy bars with candy decorations and custom fabric. I have very simple candy bars with 3 jars and that is it. You can completely personalize it to fit your style and/or budget. I just saw some new m&m’s that have the bride and groom’s faces on them and their wedding date. Pretty impressive!

Just another fun idea that you could use for your wedding!

August 9, 2008 Wedding

Thursday, August 14th, 2008

There are so many options a bride has to make her wedding unique to her style. Weddings have come a long way and now more than ever, I feel like brides are going “outside of the box” when it comes to different things. For example, here is a picture of a sand ceremony. The Sand Ceremony has the same symbolism as the unity candle with a slight modern twist to it. The bride has her color of sand that represents her life, her past, her family, etc. The groom has his color of sand that represents his life, his past, his family, etc. They come together and pour their sand into a center vase/container. You can never separate the two grains of sand. They are now one, symbolism the husband and wife and now one. No one can separate them!
