Intimate, unique and special are three words that describe Amy and Chris’s wedding day. Surrounded by best friends and family, Amy and Chris said “I do” at one of Oklahoma City’s rustic-chic venues, Harn Homestead. As the pictures convey, October 19th was a gorgeous Fall day. Here are some of our favorite photos of their special day. Thank you, Kris Boevers, for capturing such special memories!

It’s the beginning of the Fall season, which means refreshing cool weather, yummy pumpkin latte’s, and some FABULOUS weddings! One of my brides was talking about the possibility of incorporating pumpkins into her wedding, and I can’t help but share this oh-so-cute idea with you all! Save-the-dates, centerpieces, aisle decor, cakes…the sky is the limit on what you can create with pumpkins. Happy Fall!!!

This wedding wins the award of having the most personal touches and details at a reception. Deborah and Stephen were married at Camp Lucy in Dripping Springs, Texas, just outside of Austin. You would never even know it was November 19th, as the weather was beyond beautiful. The chapel was stunning and the reception venue was unlike anything you could find in Oklahoma. It was all very, very beautiful.

There were chalkboards, suitcases, vintage furniture, old windows, mirrors, popcorn bar, amazing head table, and a “scotch and cigar bar” for the guys. Everyone was satisfied and enjoyed their weekend in Austin.

One of my personal favorite reception items was all of the custom popcorn from a company called Cornucopia. It was the best popcorn I have ever had and the flavors were incredible. There are so many flavors to choose from including: birthday cake, salted toffee, cinnamon roll, smores, nutella delight, and more. And guess what, you can enjoy the popcorn after the wedding because you can order it online and they will ship it to your house! I recommend placing an order soon at Cornucopia.

On top of all of the amazing details, Deborah and Stephen’s wedding was featured on Ruffled, a super popular wedding blog geared towards all things vintage and DIY. You can check out more of their amazing wedding images from Half Orange Photography here.

(Side note: I absolutely ADORED the girls that are behind Half Orange Photography. Stancy and Katie were very professional, talented, sweet, and gorgeous! They are 2 incredible photographers. The problem is, they live in Texas, so I may not be doing many more weddings with them. I hope a future bride loves them as much as I do and wants to pay the travel fee to get them here! :) )

Congratulations to Deborah and Stephen. Loved that we could help behind the scenes on the day of the wedding to make it all go smoothly. So happy for you both!

If you want to meet the most calm, laid back bride—then meet Sarah. She is gorgeous, sweet, and the most calm bride I have ever met. She married a pretty fabulous guy too, Brett. They are such a sweet couple and had an amazing wedding in November.

Their wedding was at Crown Heights Christian Church and their reception was at the Gaylord-Pickens Heritage Museum. They had a very talented line-up of Oklahoma vendors:

Photographer: Holli B.

Caterer: Cheevers

Cake Designer: Debbie Schwab

Band: Groove Merchants (Box Talent)

Rental Items: Mariannes

Favors: Wrapped Cookies from Eileens

Florist: Poppy Lane

Invitations/Programs: Taylor Jill Designs

Bride’s Dress: Bella Rose

Videographer: 405 Productions- Logan Pennington

Gray Suits: Tuxedo Junction

We loved helping them with all of the wedding plans. One of our favorite wedding stories comes from their wedding. It has to deal with sparklers. You will have to ask Whitney about it! :)

Also, here is one picture that we LOVE:

Why do we love this picture? Because we LOVE Thetas! We have done a lot of Theta weddings. And we have some 2012 Theta weddings coming up. We appreciate you referring us to your sisters, bigs, littles, and more!

Because of how sweet you girls are for continually referring Embellished Weddings, we want to say THANK YOU, and offer a 10% discount off of your wedding package! If you are a Theta, or know a Theta, let them know about this amazing deal we have going on!

Congratulations again to Sarah and Brett! So happy for you both!

I always want to blog immediately after a wedding takes place, but trust me, you do not want to see a blog with all of the pictures taken from my I-Phone. So, I wait patiently for the photographer to edit the pictures and to find the time to send me the images to use for the blog and website!

And, now I finally have the images from Lacie and Jordan’s wedding in September. Lacie was one of the most fun, sweet and beautiful brides! We obviously love everything about weddings, but we are sad when they are over because we stop the constant communication with our sweet brides! We miss that!

I am so excited to share images from her amazing beautiful, shabby-chic, whimsical wedding! But first, is she not the most beautiful bride you have ever seen:

You might remember this post that was written while we were in the planning stages of her wedding and reception.

Well, all of those ideas and visions and details came to reality with the help of some amazing vendors in the OKC metro area.

October 2nd was an absolute beautiful day to have an outdoor wedding and reception for Alexis and Eric. There was a little wind, but other than that, it was beyond perfect weather!

The wedding and the reception took place at The Oklahoma Heritage Museum, all outdoors. It was stunning.

Meet Kateri and Adam:

img_5533-copy-summer

I am so looking forward to this October wedding this year. We have been working on her wedding since last August and it is so awesome to see everything coming together, as far as all of the planning goes. We are trying to utilize school breaks to get a lot of wedding stuff done! It has been working out great!

Kateri and Adam are an incredible couple that I have loved meeting with and working with. Kateri is a beautiful girl that just finished her first year at grad school! On top of school and work, she has been planning this gorgeous wedding! I love her incredible sense of style and I love all of her great ideas for her wedding! I love how Adam is at every appointment supporting his fiance and pouring out his ideas and desires for the wedding. I think it is just a glimpse of how he is going to support Kateri in everything she does as his wife. How sweet!

They took their engagement pictures a couple of weeks ago and their photographer sent me a few of the images. I love how the pictures turned out!

kateri-adam-engaged3Is she not gorgeous or what?

Kateri, you are going to be such a beautiful bride and your wedding is going to be absolutely stunning! I am so excited for you! Counting down with you!

I did not have a Halloween Wedding this weekend, but I wanted to do a short post in honor of Halloween.

ww-halloweenwedding2

What does Halloween and Weddings have in common?

Evil Spirits.

What? You think I am a crazy wedding planner, huh? I actually do not think that weddings have anything to do with evil spirits but I did learn something new. I am constantly researching anything and everything that has to deal with weddings, and here is what I read:

First, bride’s carry bouquets because in ancient times, it was believed that a bride could get rid of evil spirits by carrying strong-smelling herbs and spices.

Second, bridesmaids used to wear the exact same outfit as the bride, so that evil spirits would be confused as to just who was to be married.

I learned both of these things from this wedding book. (Page 80 and page 106).

Hope you had a great Halloween!

There are so many options a bride has to make her wedding unique to her style. Weddings have come a long way and now more than ever, I feel like brides are going “outside of the box” when it comes to different things. For example, here is a picture of a sand ceremony. The Sand Ceremony has the same symbolism as the unity candle with a slight modern twist to it. The bride has her color of sand that represents her life, her past, her family, etc. The groom has his color of sand that represents his life, his past, his family, etc. They come together and pour their sand into a center vase/container. You can never separate the two grains of sand. They are now one, symbolism the husband and wife and now one. No one can separate them!
