I have absolutely enjoyed every minute of planning with Casey and Cody. They are such an incredible couple. Their wedding is today and I could not be any more excited!

Hope to have lots of posts coming soon after I get pictures from their photographer! Need to brag on some incredible vendors in the OKC and Norman area.

Have a great weekend!

A Mom’s Thankfulness

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

You can definitely tell that wedding season has started around here at Embellished Weddings. It has been a busy couple of weekends with some incredible weddings. I have so much to blog about. I really hope to highlight some vendors from the past couple of weddings that Embellished has done.

In the meantime, allow me to share some sweet words from family members. In the same day and in the same hour,  two mother-of-the-bride’s e-mailed me after their daughter’s wedding had taken place. As much as I like to help the bride and the groom with every detail, I also want to help the family members. This wedding is a once in a lifetime memory, and I do not want the mom to worry about if the corsages are pinned on, or if the cakes have arrived, or if the DJ has the right order of the reception. There are a lot of details when it comes to a wedding and a reception, and I want to come alongside the bride and her family and take care of every detail so they can ENJOY EVERY MOMENT!

Here is what one mom wrote:

“BOOK HER NOW!  Amanda was invaluable in creating a wedding on our limited budget that was nothing less than magical for our daughter and her new husband.  We do not live in OKC and had no idea of where to begin.  We used every one of the vendors she suggested and couldn’t have been more pleased.  She coordinated with all of the vendors and sent us detailed lists of just where we were in the preparation process.  The reception was at the church and required much more work on her part than a standard venue would have.  She put in countless hours of work the week of the wedding and seemed to be everywhere at once on the day of.  She is charming, energetic, and a complete joy to work with.  I cannot say enough about this lovely young woman.  She is the consummate professional, loves her job, and will be devoted to making your wedding perfect in every detail.”

She also left the same review on Embellished’s Facebook Page.

Another mom put it short and sweet:

“CONGRATULATIONS on a perfect wedding.  I can’t imagine getting all that together without you.  You were fantastic and I appreciate EVERYTHING you did for us.  I’m not always the easiest person to work with, but I think we did fine.  I hope you think so too.
Amanda, it was perfect.  I don’t know a thing Lacey, Kevin or I would change.  I didn’t have to worry about anything (although, the control freak in me did a little).  I knew you were going to handle any situation.  It was the most wonderful day.
Again, thank you so much for all your hard work.  I will tell everyone new bride-to-be and mother of the bride to be about you!
Thanks so much!
love you -”

Back From a Break

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

There really is no excuse for taking a blogging break, but honestly, I just needed one. When wedding season is in full swing April-October sometimes November-March seem like a great time to take a little break. It helps me be a better wedding planner doing the full on crazy months! I am sorry you have not seen a post in a while, but hopefully that will change.

Even though I have had very few weddings from November-March, I have been busy behind the scenes working on planning all of the weddings coming up that I have from April to October. I have been attending cake tastings, catering tastings, florist appointments, lighting appointments, picking out the perfect linens, etc.

I love my job and I love meeting with brides! And I must say, I have some pretty incredible bride’s right now. I am having so much fun with them and their families. Hopefully I can showcase a few of them to you as we approach their weddings!

Lacey and Kevin are one of the first weddings to start the busy season. They are both incredible and I have loved working with them.

They are having a large wedding anticipating about 400-500 guests. Her colors are eggplant (purple) and yellow! After hearing what the florist is working on, it is going to be stunning!

Oh, and I super excited to work with their photographer, the one and only, Holli B. You can click here to view their engagement pictures that she did. She is pretty talented!

I can not wait for their wedding and you can be sure I will be posting lots of pictures from it!

"Green" Wedding

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

This past weekend I did a wedding for a really sweet girl! I have loved every appointment with her. She has a really neat style and was my first “green” bride. Not only were her colors green, but she wanted to be wise on her budget and the environment. It all turned out great! Here are some pictures!

The bride brought in her own arch and decorated it! I really liked it! (more…)
