42nd Street Candy Company

Friday, July 30th, 2010

I love showcasing incredible vendors around the Oklahoma area. One of the best parts of my job is coming alongside incredible vendors and working with them. There are a lot of talented people and I am so thankful to work with them in the wedding industry.

Another awesome person to work with for your wedding is Teresa. Teresa is the owner of 42nd Street Candy Company located in Oklahoma City. It is on Western just south of 50th. If you have not been in her amazing store, you are missing out. Pretty much any type of candy you have ever wanted is in that store. If you are on that summer diet, enter at your own risk. It can be very tempting.

There are a lot of different things that Teresa can do when it comes to a wedding. One thing that she can do that has been a hit at Oklahoma weddings recently is the Candy Bar or Candy Buffet.

Teresa provided all of the candy for a wedding that I coordinated in April. She can do anything. You just tell her your color scheme and she provides countless ideas that are sure to be a hit at your wedding. She can do a Candy Buffet that is all-inclusive meaning she will provide the jars, the candy, the favor boxes/bags, the scoops, etc. She will also do the set-up and clean up. She would do it all! Or you can provide everything yourself and she can just provide the candy.

I have worked with Teresa a lot in the past and have been blown away by her joyous attitude, bubbly personality, and incredible professionalism.

I have heard rumors that they are working on a new website! I think it might be coming true pretty soon! In the meantime, give Teresa a call. You can reach her at 42nd Street Candy Company at 405-521-8337.

One Unbelievable Florist

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010

I have worked with a lot of florists over the years. A lot of incredible florists. However, there is one that continues to blow me away. Just when I think she can’t get any more creative or create a new, magnificent centerpiece, she does! She is one of the most creative and talented people I know. Her name is Jan Edwards and she used to own Crazy Daisy and has recently changed her name to The Flower Girls (as she works with her 2 talented daughters).

She was the florist for one of the weddings I had in April. The pictures below are some of the centerpieces that she created for the guest tables and the food table.

Jan can do anything. Any style. Any color scheme. Any arrangement. On any budget. Her packages start at $2500 and go up from there. She works out of her gorgeous home in Yukon. She meets with brides at her home and arranges all of the flowers in her home. She has different items you can rent (ie: gazebo, candelabras, rod iron stands, etc) for your wedding and/or reception.

If you want centerpieces at your wedding that are unique and different and not like the flowers you see at all of your friend’s weddings, then you want to hire Jan. She is so talented and so good at what she does. I am excited to work with her a lot this year since so many of my bride’s have loved her work!

You can reach Jan at 405-495-3585 to set up an appointment to talk about your wedding flowers.

Can’t Brag Enough

Wednesday, May 12th, 2010

I already did a vendor review on this amazing photographer (that you can check out here), but I still just have to brag on him.

He was the photographer for a wedding I did in April, and I must say, the pictures that he took are phenomenal. He graciously sent me all of the pictures from the wedding and the reception so I could choose some to use for the blog and to update my gallery page on the website. As I was going through all of the pictures, I came across this one and just had to share:

This is the type of photographer that he is. He goes above and beyond to make sure you have stunning and quality pictures. He will do a lot in order to get a really amazing shot. I have never heard anything close to negative about him. All I hear is amazing things from brides, grooms, seniors, families, etc.

If you need a wedding photographer, I highly recommend Christian Sangree with Prints Charming Photorgraphy (and of course, his wife Holly too).

Wedding Invitations.

Save-the-dates.

Wedding programs.

Thank you cards.

Bridal Shower invitations.

When it comes to your wedding stationary, she can do it all. She can do anything and everything and is the best at customizing it to be exactly what you want!

Her name is Taylor and she owns Taylor Jill Designs. She is extremely talented and is very creative. She is great at what she does. A lot of my bride’s have used her, are using her, or getting ready to use her! I have seen first hand a lot of her work, and am completely amazed at how she comes up with such incredible designs. Her prices are great, her quality is exceptional, and the time it takes her to get things back to you is unmatchable.

She can do one part of your wedding stationary, or she can do every single item. Everything can match exactly, or complement each other. Whatever you want! Your wedding is about YOU! Why not use a vendor that wants to come alongside you and your dreams and create your own, customized wedding stationary? That is pretty awesome, if I do say so myself!

You can reach Taylor at 469-438-4872 or e-mail her at Taylor@taylorjilldesigns.com.

Oh, and today just happens to be her birthday, so Happy Birthday Taylor! Thank you for all you do for my bride’s. I hope your day is incredible!

1.    How long have you been in business? It has been a wonderful evolution. Long before W Photography and Design ‘officially’ began I had the opportunity to build experience with side jobs for friends and family while working full time. They were so kind to recommend me to their friends and family. That cycle kept repeating, so I made a decision to quit my job and launch W Photography and Design in 2005.

2.    How did you get involved with design, stationary, etc? When I began to plan my wedding, I decided to design my own wedding invitations, programs, rehearsal dinner invitations and so on. I enjoyed the entire process so much from the design, to choosing the kind of paper and printing. By word of mouth I met with my first client, and it has been a joy to work with the bride and groom since.

3.    What all do you offer a bride when it comes to her wedding stationary? Brides do not have to pick from menu of options that have already been designed and possible used by other brides. When I meet with the bride, they share their vision for their day and together we discuss the design. Each bride that I have the opportunity to work with knows that their stationary is going to be a custom design especially for them.
I offer full service from start to finish- design to print. Couples choose from the following: Save the Date Announcements, Wedding Invitiations, RSVP cards, Wedding Shower Invitations, Personal Shower Invitations, Rehearsal Dinner Invitations, Wedding Programs, Dinner Menus, Thank You Cards and Personalized Stationary
4.    When do you recommend a bride meets with you to order stationary? Brides sending Save the Date Announcements, I recommend meeting no less than 8 months prior to her wedding. If they are ordering Invitations, I recommend meeting no less than 6 months prior to her wedding.
5.    What do you love about your job? Most of all, I love meeting with the bride and groom and getting a feel for who they are as a couple. Everyone has their own style and wants their wedding to be unique. I love the challenge of creating stationary specifically for the couple.
