From ancient Greece to 2013, ivory and gold have proven to be the perfect pair. Though there was a plethora of red, plum and black shades at the Golden Globes this year, ivory and gold came through as the hues to use this year. Metallics are fabulous enough, but an ivory backdrop gives any dress a bridal touch. Whether it’s tulle, beaded, silk or organza, mermaid silhouette-style gowns can be flattering on all body types. It’s true you can never go wrong with a classic ivory gown, but it’s always fun to change it up for your reception by pairing a sheer gold overlay like Michelle Dockery. Another option (and a fabulous gift for bridesmaids) are using clutches as statement pieces. Hayden Paneterre opted for a vibrant ivory. They key is to take risks. Remember, a little goes a long way, especially with bridal fashion!

Intimate, unique and special are three words that describe Amy and Chris’s wedding day. Surrounded by best friends and family, Amy and Chris said “I do” at one of Oklahoma City’s rustic-chic venues, Harn Homestead. As the pictures convey, October 19th was a gorgeous Fall day. Here are some of our favorite photos of their special day. Thank you, Kris Boevers, for capturing such special memories!

It wasn’t until one of my brides asked me, “Is it weird to bring my dog along to my engagement session?”  that I thought about how common it has become to see dogs incorporated into weddings. Often times, a pet is the couple’s prized possession, and a friend that will be part of their journey together as a married couple.

stylemepretty

Walking down the aisle as a “flower dog” or ring bearer, joining in at engagement shoots and even roaming around the reception, there’s no doubt that these K9 wedding guests are an adorable addition to weddings. How cute are these pups dressed in a bow tie, floral collar and a tuxedo!?!?

Questions to ask before you consider having your dog present at your wedding:

1. Does the venue permit having dogs on their property?

Some venues like country will most likely have concerns about having a dog on their property, especially indoors. Even though      animals aren’t mentioned in the contract, doesn’t mean it’s permitted!

2. Will my dog feel at ease?

If your dog is timid, he might feel a bit uncomfortable around dozens of guests. Watch your dog around groups of people to              determine if he would be a good addition to your wedding.

3. Will guests be comfortable?

Some guests (like myself ;-) ) aren’t totally comfortable around strange dogs. If your dog has not been properly trained to be            around people, then it might be best to celebrate with him after the wedding.

There are so many other cute ways to include your dog in your wedding? Table numbers and favors are a few of those personal  touches to your wedding and are the perfect way to include your dog in your wedding.

Remember, don’t be afraid to think outside the box when planning your wedding; it’s the little, quirky details that make it fun and unique!

We loved, loved getting to know Jacqueline and Keystone and help them plan their wedding. Keystone was the most organized, detailed groom and was a huge help in getting things planned and finalized. Their ceremony was extremely personal and special and took place at Crossing’s Chapel.

The gorgeous bride:

Custom robes for the ladies:

Could she get any more beautiful?

First look and reading the notes they wrote each other:

The beautiful bridesmaids. Bouquets by Poppy Lane.

Their reception was at Harn Homestead and packed full of personal details and special touches. Groove Merchants was the band and we could not have hand picked better weather for an indoor/outdoor reception by the barn. It was beautiful!

The super cute husband and wife:

I LOVED all of the different centerpieces created by Poppy Lane!

Just a few of my favorite details: Pictures wrapped around a tree trunk// custom sign at entrance// Abbey Road Catering// cute food centerpiece by Poppy Lane

If your name is Keystone, it only makes sense to have a Keystone beer groom’s cake, right? Both amazing cakes made by Mishelle Handy Cakes.

One very special moment of the night, was when the bride’s sister surprised her with a gift before the reception started. It was her NEW monogram on a necklace! The necklace is so cute and she got it at Chirps and Cheers in Edmond!

One touch that added so much to the night was the custom lighting provided by IES. The hung mason jar with lights in the trees, vintage bulbs over the barn entrance, custom “H” light over the barn, and more!

Beautiful exit to end a beautiful night!

It was so much fun to work with this couple. They thoroughly enjoyed every single moment of the wedding and the reception. Nothing else mattered but that they were getting married and celebrating with all of their friends and family. No stress. No worries. Just madly in love and taking in every moment. It was a beautiful wedding to be a part of. Thank you for letting us help you with every detail!

(Thank you to Holli B. for providing all of these beautiful images).
