Lacie & Jordan

Friday, May 21st, 2010

I am seeing my bride’s everywhere (on the internet). Photographers are showcasing their engagement session on their blog, or highlighting pictures of their bridal session, or posting about their wedding, etc. I have been loving seeing their pictures! Because they are all so amazing and beautiful, I would like to showcase them too!

Here are Lacie and Jordan:

Jordan is a pilot and he flew them to Wiley Post Airport where they did their engagement shoot. How perfect is that?

Carl Zoch did their engagement session and will be shooting at their wedding this fall. I took these two pictures from his blog. He gets all the credit! Also, check out these two blog posts from Carl Zoch to see more of their incredible engagement session:

Lacie has sent me some incredible pictures for her wedding inspiration. Let’s just say that every picture she sends me, I just love. It is going to be a vintage-chic, whimsical wedding incorporating unique and modern elements. Here is a little glimpse into the inspiration:

This next picture gives some inspiration for centerpiece ideas and also a way to incorporate burlap onto the reception tables:

I am so excited for their wedding! We still have 4 months of planning to do to get ready! I sure do love what I do!

What is “Normal” Anyway?

Friday, June 19th, 2009

Who says you have to wear “normal” wedding shoes on your big day? Never compromise your style to do what is “traditional” unless that is what you want. It is so easy to “go by the books” on your wedding day and do what everyone else does. If you have never gone to a wedding that has worn Chacos as wedding shoes, it is hard for yourself to do that. Trust your instinct. Trust your style. Your guests will appreciate it. This is YOUR wedding. Do your thing!

Venue Review: Dominion House

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

Today I want to shine the spotlight on an incredible venue in Guthrie: The Dominion House. (Picture thanks to Carl Zoch Photography).

They are a perfect location for the bride that wants to get married inside a gorgeous chapel or for the bride that wants an outdoor wedding. They offer both locations as well as a gorgeous reception room. The Dominion House can accommodate up to 350 guests.

They have an on-site caterer that is phenomenal. The food not only looked incredible as it was displayed, it tasted incredible.

I can say the same thing about the cakes. Whitney used the cake designer that the Dominion House offers and her bride’s cake and groom’s cake looked stunning and tasted better!

They provide the majority of the set-up and clean-up. I worked with the Director, Julie Ayers, and her staff and can honestly say that they were extremely helpful and courteous and took serious the fact that this is a very important day for this couple and their families. They have a team that knows their responsibilities and carries them out to perfection, thus making the bride and groom’s day perfect.

I can assure you: if you choose The Dominion House in Guthrie for your wedding and/or reception location, you will be more than pleased. You will have an incredible experience planning your wedding with the help of Julie and her staff and you will have an incredible wedding day.

Check out their website that has more information in detail: www.dominionhouseguthrie.com.

May 1, 2009 Wedding- “He Said/She Said”

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

There was a lot of planning and preparation that went into this gorgeous May 1st wedding. Whitney and Jeremiah got married outside in the garden at the Domionion House and had there reception there too. Everything was gorgeous and went just as planned (except for the little bit of rain that came during the ceremony outside). In the midst of the rain, it was still perfect!

There were so many things that I loved about this wedding, so it is hard for me to narrow it down to just one. But, I do want to focus on one thing Whitney and Jeremiah did that added such a personal touch to their wedding day. The made a “He Said/She Said” sheet that they placed at each place setting around the table in the reception:

whitsblog21

This memorable sheet consists of three different areas that the bride and the groom share their differing thoughts about. The first part that they flip open is “The Story.” The first part consists of Whitney explaining how she met Jeremiah and how she describes their story. Following Whitney, Jeremiah writes his side of the story. He explains his thoughts on how he met Whitney. One interaction. Two different stories. Hence, “He Said/She Said.”

The next part is “The Proposal.” You flip open that tab and then you will find how Whitney explains how Jeremiah proposed to her. After that, Jeremiah explains his side of the story of how he proposed. Once again, one interaction, two different stories. It is such a neat idea and it gives your guests something thoughtful and personal for them to read to take up that time between the ceremony and pictures.

Lastly, is the part that is entitled “From the Couple.” That is simply a message from the bride and groom to all of their guests. It includes their thankfulness to them and it includes their new address.

Whitney and Jeremiah, it was so great to work with you both and your families. Whitney, you were an absolutely STUNNING bride. You were glowing. I absolutely loved the song that you chose to walk down the aisle to see Jeremiah. It was PERFECT. It was such a sweet, genuine moment. Jeremiah, good idea with the Chacos. Even the photographer got to wear them. Congratulations you two! So excited for you!

Sunday Reception 6-22-08

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

On Sunday, I had a Reception Only. The bride and the groom had a destination wedding on 06/07/08. They went on their honeymoon and then came back for the final preparations for their reception.

Yesterday was a full day! Woke up early to begin the installation of a 30×60 tent, put up a liner, then continued to line the tent with tulle, lights, and lanterns. Then came tables, chairs, linens, centerpieces, etc. We could not have asked for more perfect weather. I was so thankful for that! Everything about yesterday was STUNNING! The weather, the tent, the decorations, the cakes and sweets, and of course the gorgeous bride and groom. They were so much fun to work with.

Now, for the pictures….
